WELCOME MESSAGE FROM HOD

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to mechanical department where we are committed to excellence in teaching, research, and innovation in the field of mechanical engineering. Our goal is to equip students with practical skills, critical thinking abilities, and a strong technical foundation to meet the demands of today’s dynamic engineering world. We take pride in our dedicated staff, modern facilities, and a curriculum that blends theory with hands-on experience.

Specific entry requiremnts

◉Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with at least five (05) passes two of which must be in Physics and Mathematics.
◉Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) with at least One (01) Principal Pass in either Physics or Mathematics and Two (02) Subsidiary Passes from science subjects taken at Principal Level obtained at the same sitting or its equivalent.
➢For purposes of computing entry points, the advanced level subjects shall be classified as follows:
Essential – Physics and Mathematics
Relevant – Chemistry, Economics,Fine Art , Technical drawing
Desirable – General Paper, subsidiary ICT or any other Science/Technical subject taken at subsidiary level.
◉Advanced Craft Certificate or a National Craft Certificate from a recognized institution with proven practical experience of at least two (02) years in any of the following fields:
➢Welding and Metal Fabrication.
➢Motor Vehicle Technician.
➢Mechanical Engineering Craft Practice
➢Refrigeration and Air Conditioning
➢Agricultural Engineering Mechanics
➢Any other Engineering field as approved by the Admissions Board of the Uganda Technical College.
◉Diploma in an Engineering or Physical Science field from a recognised institution.
◉Bachelor’s degree in the Physical Sciences from a recognised institution.
◉Any other qualification as approved by the regulatory bodies of the East African Community States.
